Facilitator Bio

Christine Flannery Bio

Christine Flannery is a certified somatic sex educator and embodied counsellor working at the meeting point of movement, sensuality, and somatic awareness. She invites participants to explore the body as a site of knowing—where pleasure, presence, and expression can reorient how we relate to ourselves and others. Her erotic embodiment workshops are not about performance, but about remembering how it feels to be deeply alive in your skin—supporting us to move through the world with greater congruence, authenticity, and ease.

Workshop 1 Name:

The Art of Striptease.

# of participants:

30-40. 60 max

Workshop 1 duration:

2 Hour Workshop

Equipment needed:

Workshop 1's Intention:

This practice is for self and the other: you are stepping into a role with agency and choice to be witnessed in self expression that is congruent with your erotic current in each moment
Participants will learn embodied presence through erotic dance-inspired strip-tease
Experience self expression, permission, playfulness
To feel what it’s like to take up space and be on display
To feel the power of undressing with agency
To explore intentionally stepping into role
To witness and be witnessed

Workshop 1 rough format:

Inquiry: Where does eroticism live in your body? Can we move from this place?
Exploring different archetypes (muse, performer, sensualist, slut) which you might connect to, or you might not and you might have your own
Learning some moves (tools and tips derived from stripping/burlesque/showgirls) and trying them out as a group
Practice moves to different types of music, getting into flow, getting curious about how each archetype might move and making it authentically your own.
Get in pairs where 1 person is the performer and 1 the witness, have an entire song (aprox 5mins) to strip as much/as little as the performer would like while being witnessed, and play with the different tools we learned to make it feel as authentic/interesting as possible - can be as dramatic or as subtle as feels interesting for you - consent-based practices to be taught: discuss where you’d like partner to look/not look, how this can be more comfortable for you as performer
If we have time, we will invite the group if anyone wants to perform in front of the group that there will be opportunity to strip/dance in front of the group at the end

Workshop 1 program description:

An embodied exploration into the depths of your own erotic expression. Inspired by early showgirls, burlesque performers and the modern day stripper, join us for an intentional journey of desire, creativity and playfulness. With each layer of clothing we can peel away societal construct, shame and whatever else may not be serving our erotic current. Be prepared to slow down, and feel for your own unique pulse. Whether you've done this before or it's your first time, we will have a bit of yumminess for everyone. All levels and genders are welcome.

This immersive professional development workshop invites somatic practitioners, bodyworkers, and educators to explore and deepen their own somatic practice and that of their peers. To reconnect with the body beneath the role, and to experience what it feels like to be on the receiving end of nourishing, attuned, and erotic touch.
By embodying both sides of the exchange, we reconnect with our own aliveness and longing, restoring vitality and authenticity that nourish both our work and our wider lives.
This workshop can open the doorway to altered states of being — moments where time slows, the body expands, and subtle frequencies emerge. We approach these states consciously, using them as portals to insight, integration, and renewal.
